Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Web Data Extraction Specialist to join our data intelligence team. The primary responsibility of this role is to systematically visit provided web URLs (websites, directories, listings) to identify, collect, verify, and structure business details and contact information. This extracted data is crucial for our market research, lead generation, and business analytics services, directly contributing to the strategic goals of our clients and our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection: Visit assigned URLs and meticulously extract key business information, including but not limited to:
    • Company Name, Address, and Description.
    • Contact Details (Phone Numbers, Email Addresses).
    • Key Personnel Names and Titles.
    • Services/Products Offered.
    • Operating Hours and Social Media Links.
  • Data Verification: Cross-check and validate the accuracy of the collected information to ensure high data quality.
  • Data Entry & Structuring: Accurately input the collected data into designated databases, spreadsheets, or CRM systems in a clean, structured, and consistent format.
  • Adherence to Protocols: Follow company guidelines and ethical standards for data collection, respecting robots.txt and website terms of service.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks on own work and peer work to maintain a high standard of data integrity.
  • Reporting: Provide daily/weekly summaries of data collection progress and flag any issues or inconsistencies encountered during the process.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to scan a webpage quickly and identify relevant information amidst clutter.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on accuracy and completeness is non-negotiable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using web browsers, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets), and basic data management tools.
  • Internet Savvy: A fast learner with excellent internet navigation and research skills.
  • Ethical Understanding: Awareness of and commitment to ethical data scraping practices and data privacy norms.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Basic understanding of HTML structure.
  • Familiarity with any data scraping or automation tools.
  • Experience with CRM software.
